I am so sad to hear this, I grew up on the Monkees. Me and my sister loved watching the reruns of their tv show.

Just Cause - Princeton "To the Alps"
Princeton reminds me of Superhuman Happiness, with a touch of Bon Iver on certain songs("remembrance of Things to Come"). Cute video, makes me want to go rollerskating.

New Music - Rihanna ft. Chris Brown "Birthday Cake Remix"
No matter what you think, she is an adult so she can do what she wants. At this point, you just got to hope they are both being careful.
Now on to the song, it's hot and the addition of Brown fits right in.

Foreign Friday - Heike Has the Giggles "Teenager"
Country: Italy
Genre: rock
Similar to: Versa Emerge, Paramore, No Doubt, Fefe Dobson(certain songs at least)
Website: www.heikehasthegiggles.com
Their cover of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" is pretty awesome, listen after the jump.

Foreign Friday - Mr. Graceless "Mr. Li"
I couldn't find a better video, sorry.
Country: China
Genre: Indie-rock
Similar to: Augustana, The Libertines

Foreign Friday - Abbe May "Mammalian Locomotion"
"Abbe May spent her late teens and early twenties in Australia’s sleaziest rock venues, busted up studios and unreliable tour vans in various solo and band incarnations. With sly humour, Abbe has graduated from her critically acclaimed early explorations of rock and blues to become a guitar-slinging goddess with an atmospheric cocktail of sexy indie riff-rock, psychedelia and blues."

Throwback - OutKast "Ms. Jackson"
This was probably OutKast's most popular song before "Hey Ya." Any teacher named Ms./Mrs. Jackson when this song came out was sung this at some point. Must have been very annoying.
Throwback - Creed "With Arms Wide Open"
I know Creed is supposed to be the exact opposite of cool, but I will admit this was my jam back in the day. You don't have to be brave and admit it too, I know you guys liked it, haha.
Throwback - Shaggy "It Wasn't Me"
I can distinctly remember recording this off the radio, yes on a cassette, and wondering if anyone has ever given this excuse when they were caught. Man these throwbacks are making me feel old.
Throwback - Vertical Horizon "Everything You Want"
This is still one of my favorite songs, but I think this is the first time I've seen the actual video. Those pants are distracting, haha.
Labels:
Throwback,
Vertical Horizon
Throwback - Christina Aguilera "What A Girl Wants"
Another TRL staple.
Labels:

Throwback - Eminem "The Real Slim Shady"
I went to a screening of 21 Jump Street yesterday, and this song plays a part in it. Took me back to the glory days of TRL, when the world premiere of a video was a big thing. Possibly a little sad, but I still have tapes, yes VHS tapes, of this and most of the big premieres; mainly *NSYNC.
Wow, I completely forgot Kathy Griffin was in this.

New Music - Dunson "Count On It"
"Count on It represents the unapologetic confidence you have when you have put your work in. I love how it incorporates a childhood sample that so many of us are familiar with. That helped me keep it ambitious but not overly aggressive!"
Dunson, formerly Kenton Dunson, is clearly working hard to make 2012 his year. This is a good start.
New Music - 2AM Club "Love Notes"
Just in time for Valentine's Day.
New Discovey - Saskatchewan "Skinny Dipping"

Foreign Friday - Concrete Knives "Brand New Start"
This is good studying music, peppy but not so upbeat that you can't focus on what you are reading.
Country: France
Genre: Indie-Pop
Similar to: Arcade Fire, Alphabeat, a lot of other indie pop bands

Labels:

Foreign Friday - Bez ft. Praiz "That Stupid Song"
Several people have suggested I post this video, so here it goes.
With a few changes this would be a John Legend song, and it would probably be a hit spring/summer jam. Nigerians are really stepping up their game.
If you haven't checked out iROKING for the latest in what's hot in Africa yet, go take a gander.

New Music Video - Watch the Throne "Ni**as In Paris"
Loves It!!!!
*Update*
I still love the video cause it looks like it was the greatest concert, but I completely understand why people are disappointed with it. They did miss an opportunity to make the best video of the year. Certainly no one is going to interrupt whoever wins this year to complain about this one being snubbed.
