New Discovery - Kevin Garrett "Coloring"

Getting a bit Sigur Ros, Daley, James Blake, I'm groovin' over here. Check him out here.

New Music Video - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars"Uptown Funk"

I've been jamming to this like an idiot. The combination of the two of them is so smart. It's like Morris Day and The Time put out new music. Haha, Mark Ronson just sat there the whole time bopping his head. That kind of sums him up, like he sits back does his thing and then just let's the other people shine. I dig it.

Music Default - 11/12/14 Edition

"Hey guys-

Hope you all enjoyed our special mixtape edition last week. Let's get right into it...

We start off this week's list with a gritty, retro sounding track from Misun. It's hard not to jam out to Viceroy's remix of Penguin Prison's "Calling Out" followed by Golden Coast's "Who We Are", which is pop perfection. Tei Shi's vocals on "Bassically" are seductive and captivating. My favorite bad-ass, cig-smoking french DJ Kavinsky returns with "Sovereign". Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains' "La Fille Aux Cheveux de Soie (Isaac Delusion Remix)" is chill electronic music at its best. Billie Black's "Black and White" is sensual and soulful and is followed by the very catchy, minimal remix to Brooke Fraser "Kings And Queens". Some of you will recognize the original to "Octahate" from a previous MD but for a totally different feel give this remix a listen.

Remember you can stream today's entire playlist on musicdefault.com.

In no particular order...."

Foreign Friday Iceland Airwaves Edition - Kwabs "Pray For Love"

Origin: London
Genre: R&B, Soul
Website: facebook.com

Foreign Friday Iceland Airwaves Edition - Árstíðir "Heyr himna smiður"

I will let the video speak for itself.

Foreign Friday - Ballet School "Ghost"

Origin: Denmark
Genre: Pop
website: balletschoolband.com

Their style seems to go from more traditional pop to more modern experimental pop. I'm not sold just yet, but I like this track because it sort of reminds me of an Utada song.

Foreign Friday - Disa "Sun"

Iceland Airwaves is in less than two weeks, so I want to post some of the artists that will be there. Disa is an Icelandic artist that has at bit of a dark Bjork, who is also Icelandic, sound. Check out more of her music here. And check out the line-up for Iceland Airwaves here.
