Foreign Friday - Eva Stone "I Won't Wait"

Origin: Newcastle
Genre: Singer-songwriter
Website: evastonemusic.tumblr.com

She used to go by Amy Holford, whatever she calls herself the lady has soul. The other soulful Stone, Joss, has a big voice, but what I like about Eva is how she doesn't over-express. She belts and runs when it is an emphasis, not because she can. And what I like about this song is that it is the opposite of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Instead of pleading with someone to not take her man, Stone is saying look I don't need you, I people lined up waiting for me, haha.
If you like more acoustic stuff, check out Burberry Acoustic's page on Youtube. I found Eva Stone from looking up James Bay's video.

Foreign Friday - James Bay "Let It Go"

Origin: Hitchin,UK
Genre: Singer-songwriter
Album/EP(s): Let It Go EP, Dark of the Morning
Website: jamesbaymusic.com
The only "Let It Go" that I have been listening to non-stop is James Bay's. If Sam Smith's voice is too whiny, no offense to Smith, for you, I would suggest James Bay. He has the soul with the grit of someone who's been heartbroken but not crying about it. More like he's fed up then sad.

On Repeat - Glass Animals "Gooey"

I can't stop listening to this dang song. Especially the first fifty seconds or so when the beat comes in. They are a really interesting artistic group. Check them out here.

New Discovery - Delta Spirit "Yamaha"

"Yamaha" was featured in the movie Warm Bodies, but I didn't notice Delta Spirit until now. Their new album Into The Wilde will be released on September 9. Check them out here.

New Music Video - John Hopkins ft. Lulu James "We Disappear"

The video fits the song well. I can see someone dancing like that to it. Check out his music here, and Lulu James here.

Foreign Friday - Ego Ella May "Love Hard"

R&B hasn't really been winning for a while. Her album is the R&B/soul that I haven't heard in a while. It is a blend of other genres too, but you feel the soul. Origin: London Album: Breathing Underwater Website: embracemay.tumblr.com

New Music - Santigold "Kicking Down Doors"

I thought the beat was gonna go harder, but I still think it knocks. It's totally what I would expect from Santigold. M.I.A makes herself standout, but Santigold really does put out some good stuff without all the extra.

Foreign Friday - Kimbra "90s Music"

Kimbra has always been a little different, and I love her for that. She recently released the video for her new track "90s Music." People who know her from Gotye's hit "Somebody I Used To Know," will not even recognize her in this.

Foreign Friday - Elizaveta "Sorry"

I loooove So You Think You Can Dance, and Elizaveta used two of season 10 dancers, Malece Miller and Nico Greetham, in her music video. Oh and the song is good too, haha. Kind of Regina Spektor meets Sara Bareiles.
Origin: Russia

Foreign Friday - Olamide ft. Wale "Make Us Proud"

Origin: Nigeria
It definitely has a bump this during the summer beat, but Olamide's voice sounds disjointed to me. Perhaps my yankee ears are just over-thinking it, haha.

Throwback Thursday - Reba McEntire "Fancy"

Since the CMT Awards were last night, here is one of country's biggest stars biggest hits. This is actual a cover of Bobbie Gentry, which is almost completely different. Gentry's version is after the jump.

Throwback Thursday - Ryan Adams "Wonderwall"

I know people think I'm crazy for saying this, but I like his version better than the Oasis version....*waits for gasps and disgusted faces. Perhaps because I love melancholic songs, and the slowed down, depressing nature of his version speaks directly to me.
