I am a bit late to the Mr. J. train, but I think I can catch it. When first checking out his music, I wasn't that impressed to be honest. Until I watched his video for "Constance." I miss this type of conscious music; mainly my fault for not really looking for it. It reminds me of the songs in the 90's that had actual meaning, like Tupac's "Brenda's Got A Baby," TLC's "Waterfall," and others I can't seem to remember titles to. The subjects and the music won't having you bouncing on the dance floor, but they will get you to think and hopefully feel. From what I have listened to so far, Mr. J. has a good range of sounds to keep me interested. Above is his new song "These Hands," and his video for "Constance" is after the jump.
